Meet the owner: In 2002, we hired a company to take care of our lawn. We had basically "ignored" it for the previous 3 summers, and we had no history of how it was treated before that time. The company told us we were getting an organic-based program. In our ignorance (at that time), we thought we were getting a pesticide-free program. (We now know that Organic-Based means that only 15% max. is actually organic -- the balance can be herbicide/pesticide). By the summer, he had posted pesticide signs and requested that we keep our dog (Bella) off the lawn for a period of time. The lawn was her domain -- she had an invisible fence and was able to roam at will. We, as well as Bella, were disappointed by this, which is why we did some research into "how a lawn could be treated organically with No Pesticides".
Considerable research led us to The Environmental Factor. We drove to the company office and purchased product for our own use. We had already been contemplating buying a franchise -- and since I had always been something of an environmental "nut", it seemed like a perfect fit. The combination of outstanding organic expertise and complementary products led to the purchase of a franchise in 2003. Today our service area includes: Newmarket & Aurora, as well as Caledon, Orangeville and Georgetown.
