Deer

Artiodactyla: Cervidae

Description & Damage

Deer feed on many vegetables, flowers, and the tender tips of young trees leaving jagged damage on the leaves. They eat fruits of all kinds, from strawberries to fruit trees and fallen fruit. They also dig up the lawn in search of grubs. In the fall and winter, they damage trees by rubbing their antlers against tree trunks and woody shrub branches causing shreds of the bark.
